CEREC® Same-Day Crowns - Champaign, IL

Enjoy Durable Restorations in One Chairside Visit

Get Your Beautiful Smile Back in a Few Hours

Untreated cavities can expose tooth nerves, leading to extreme pain, infection, the need for a root canal, and even tooth loss. Likewise, a damaged tooth can have consequences beyond cosmetic appearance, including tooth and jaw pain, infection, gum disease, misalignment, and tooth loss. If you already have one or several missing teeth, the smile gaps make it difficult to eat a balanced diet, increasing your risk of jaw pain, bone loss, facial changes, periodontal disease, and worsening systemic health.

The good news is that you don’t have to struggle with damaged or missing teeth or settle for traditionally fabricated dental bridges or crowns. CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic) is an innovative, time-saving method for creating dental bridges and crowns in Champaign, IL, at the convenience of our dental office.

Innovative Technology Enables Chairside Fabrication of Crowns & Bridges

Typically, the process of creating a dental crown involves taking traditional impressions, sending them to a dental lab, fitting them with a temporary restoration, and coming back a week to 10 days later for the permanent crown.

In contrast, our state-of-the-art milling machine makes it possible to create and deliver a beautifully crafted CEREC crown in Champaign, IL, in just one visit! This technology also enhances our ability to provide tooth crowns and dental bridges with incredible accuracy, superb quality control, and design flexibility.

Issues Resolved with Dental Crowns & Bridges

What to Expect When Getting CEREC Crowns and Bridges

Our team will determine if a CEREC crown or bridge is the best option during your consultation. If so, we’ll numb your tooth, remove decay, and modify it to accommodate your milled ceramic tooth cap. If you’re getting a dental bridge in Champaign, IL, the anchor teeth are prepared for the crowns, including removing a thin layer of enamel from the sides to create room for the dental bridge. Less tooth structure is removed with the CEREC method than traditional crowns and bridges.

With CEREC, messy impressions are a thing of the past, making scanning easier and more pleasant. Digital X-rays and photographs are taken of your mouth with the Primescan intraoral scanner, which converts the images into a 3D model of your mouth. While waiting, your crown design is seamlessly transmitted to the milling machine using the CEREC software.

The exact milling process creates restorations with smooth surfaces and margins from a solid block of dental-grade zirconia. After milling, all ceramic zirconium oxide CEREC restorations are sintered and glazed before placement.

Whether you get a dental crown or bridge, they’re designed to seamlessly complement your other teeth in shape and color while enhancing your facial features and skin tone.

While CEREC crowns can usually be delivered in one day, in some cases, we may ask you to return to our practice later in the day or the next day. This happens more frequently with dental bridges because this type of restoration is more complex.

Before bonding them, we’ll check the fit and bite and make tiny adjustments to ensure they look and feel perfect. Due to the secure bonding method, CEREC crowns and bridges reduce the risk of recurrent decay once permanently placed.
