Veneers in Champaign, IL

Veneers change the shape, color, or spacing of your front teeth. Ceramic or 3D-printed, ours are designed to look like your own teeth, not a set from a catalog. At Q Dental in Champaign, IL, you see the design on your own smile first, and if something simpler would get you there, we’ll say so.

Is it right for you

When veneers make sense, and when they don’t

We put the patient first and choose the least invasive path that delivers the result you are looking for. Sometimes that is veneers. Sometimes it is whitening, bonding, or orthodontics.

Often a good fit

Shape, color, or spacing of front teeth

Veneers make sense when you want to change more than one thing about your front teeth at once: their shape, their color, their length, or the spacing between them. They are often part of the plan for peg laterals, for teeth that have stayed dark after whitening, and for worn or uneven front teeth.

Maybe something simpler

When whitening or bonding does the job

Our approach is simple: less is more. We choose the least invasive path that delivers the result you are looking for. If whitening or bonding would get you there with less change to your teeth, we will tell you, even if it means a smaller treatment than you came in expecting.

Checked first

Healthy teeth and gums

Before any veneer, your teeth and gums need to be healthy. Cavities, gum disease, and heavy grinding are treated or managed first, because a veneer is only as good as the tooth underneath it. We check all of this at your consultation.

Compare your options

Bonding, 3D-printed veneers or ceramic veneers?

All three can improve how front teeth look. They differ in what they are made of, how they are made, and how much they change. A crown covers the whole tooth and is used when more of the tooth needs rebuilding.

The Q Dental Smile Design Experience

Step 1: Consultation

Your smile transformation begins with a conversation—not a procedure. We take the time to understand your goals, then choose the least invasive path that delivers the results you’re looking for.

Step 2: Records and Prototype Appointment

We collect photographs and digital impressions, then design your new smile. You get a 3D-printed mock-up you can see, feel, and even take home, and we finalize the design before we ever pick up a drill.

Step 3: Treatment Start

Whichever option you choose, we have guides made from your approved design, so the final shape closely follows the plan. For bonding, the guide helps us shape the composite right on your teeth. For 3D-printed and ceramic veneers, preparation guides let us remove the absolute minimum amount of tooth structure necessary. For ceramic veneers, we work hand in hand with a high-quality cosmetic dental lab.

Step 4: Delivery Day

Whether you chose bonding, 3D-printed veneers, or ceramic veneers, we check the fit, color, and harmony with your face and bite. Then we refine the details and polish the finish.

Questions

Clear answers about veneers in Champaign-Urbana

Veneers are one of several cosmetic options. See all cosmetic dentistry at Q Dental.

What can veneers fix?
Veneers change the shape, color, or spacing of front teeth. They are often part of the plan for peg laterals (small, pointed side teeth) and for dark or discolored teeth that do not respond to whitening.
Can I whiten my teeth instead?
Sometimes, yes. If color is the only thing you want to change and your teeth respond to whitening, we will recommend that first. Veneers make more sense when shape, spacing, or deep discoloration is the concern.
How many veneers do I need?
It depends on how many teeth show when you smile. Some patients need only two to fix the front teeth; others need eight to twelve for a full smile. We only recommend as many as it takes to get the result you want, and we show you the plan on your own smile before anything is done.
How many visits does it take?
Bonding and 3D-printed veneers take two visits: one for records and planning, one for the procedure. Ceramic veneers take three: records and planning, the procedure with temporaries, then delivery of your final veneers.
Do veneers ruin your real teeth?
Ceramic veneers usually require some enamel removal so they sit flush with your other teeth, because ceramic needs a certain thickness to resist shattering. We use guides made from your approved design to take off as little as possible. Bonding and 3D-printed veneers often need little or no preparation.
Does it hurt to get veneers?
We use local anesthesia and make sure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. Some cold sensitivity afterward is normal, but it should not last more than a day or two.
How long do veneers last?
It is hard to give one answer, because it depends on how you take care of them. Good oral hygiene and wearing your night guard both help veneers last longer. A 2021 review of 25 clinical studies in the Journal of Clinical Medicine found that about nine in ten ceramic veneers are still in place at ten years. Bonding usually lasts several years and is easy to repair. 3D-printed veneers are newer, and if one chips, we simply reprint it.
Do veneers stain?
Ceramic veneers resist stains better than natural teeth. Bonding and 3D-printed resin may pick up stains over time, especially from coffee, tea and red wine. At your regular recare visits, we can polish them to remove or reduce staining.
How do I care for veneers?
Veneers are cleaned like natural teeth: brush twice a day and floss daily. Every veneer case comes with a night guard, and wearing it is the single best way to protect your investment. Keep your regular recare visits so we can check the edges and polish them as needed.
Are veneers worth it?
They are worth it when they fix something that whitening or bonding cannot: shape, spacing, or color that will not whiten. Dr. Kelvin Jung and Dr. Comer both design and place veneers, and if a simpler option would get you there, either of them will tell you.
How much do veneers cost?
The price depends on three things: how many teeth are involved, which option you choose (bonding, 3D-printed, or ceramic), and whether anything needs treating first. Because of that, we don’t quote a single number. You get a written treatment plan and estimate at your consultation, and we offer financing options to help.
Does insurance help with veneers?
Most dental plans treat veneers as cosmetic and do not cover them. We offer several financing options that can help you get the smile you want. See our insurance and financing page for details.
